Haysville Senior Center - Food Bank and Commodities

The Food Bank and Commodities programs operate through the Haysville Senior Center but you do not have to be a senior to receive help.
Food Bank Program:
- The food bank is sustained solely by donations and available to households once per month.
- To receive assistance households must have a Haysville address or be located in the USD 261 school district.
- They require is a utility bill showing your name and address as well as the names and ages of household members. Proof of income is not required.
Commodities Program:
- The commodities program (The Emergency Food Assistance Program, or TEFAP) provides free USDA commodity foods to low-income households throughout Kansas.
- The program helps persons of all ages who have low income or do not work.
- You must provide a valid Kansas driver’s License or State ID showing you live in zip codes 67060, 67216, or 67037.
- Individuals will need to sign a form stating that their total household income meets the income guidelines determined by the State of Kansas.
- Commodities distributions are usually on the 3rd Wednesday of the month beginning at 1:00 pm, however distribution dates are subject to change.
- Food is distributed on a first come, first serve basis only.
Call (316) 529-5903 Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to inquire about eligibility and schedule a pick-up time. Walk-ins are not accepted currently.
