Cornerstone Community Outreach was founded in 1989 by the church's longstanding mission, Jesus People USA Evangelical Covenant Church.
With the help of the City of Chicago, the CCO has purchased and rehabilitated what is now the CCO Shelter.
The building houses a large kitchen and dining room, and a large dormitory for women and children.
The $1 million renovation provided them with a daycare center, three full family rooms, dormitories for adolescent boys, new bathroom facilities with showers, a laundry room and recreational facilities.
