Food Pantry Monday to Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
We are open every day of the week of the year from 8:30 to 17:00, except national holidays and the last week of December. Please stop by to see our programs, talk to the staff, or pick up a loaf of bread.
We offer weekly distribution of bread with occasional eggs, milk, and yogurt available; monthly emergency food goods consisting of a bag of dry products; and free clothing with an emphasis on winter readiness for children and families.
The weekly bread distribution is open to everyone, regardless of where you live and your income level; This program works on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The emergency food program distributes USDA goods and donated food to eligible households in El Dorado province, offering the second Friday of the month until it is gone (usually in less than two weeks).
Clothes are always available through our Clothing Closet, and families are encouraged to take clothes only once a month. No one is rejected if there is a need.
We offer special events where we distribute large winter clothing once or twice a year.
We also support families with energy assistance when a crisis occurs, and occasionally we support families with rental assistance when a serious need arises. We have limited resources for these programs, and families are eligible for help only once a year. Often these funds are quickly exhausted, so if you have a need, don't wait until the end of the month to ask for help.
It never hurts to ask, but we can't always help.
Proposed programs include:
Bilingual peer counseling to help with the challenges of life
Bilingual advocacy and translation of various topics, including mental health, educational success, healthy lifestyles, navigation in the healthcare system, job search, and other resilience-building activities.
Weekly groups of Latino parents in each school called Cafecitos
Daily ESL classes in cooperation with Lake Tahoe Community College
Weekly bread distribution from Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 5:00
Monthly emergency food assistance through the State of CA on the second Friday of every month
Free clothes for children and adults in need

We operate Bookworks, a used bookstore in Lakeview Plaza, with volunteers and donations from the community
Seasonal outings for children and families
In cooperation with schools, we help to combine scholarships for sports
Reviews
I came by here last year cause I had just lost my father literally right after getting evacuated from the colder fire, and needed help with food and help with my rent, was told by a church that this company was helping people, so I went to get help and the guy was so rude saying it's only for people who have kids,
