Last year, staff and volunteers provided food to thousands of hungry people, feeding an average of 8,409 people every month.
They distribute grocery bags consisting of a three-day supply of food adjusted to the size of the house.
Eligible customers are residents of the District of Columbia, have an income of 200% or less of the federal poverty line, and are either elderly, disabled, or families with dependent children.
Eligible customers can receive 3 days of food each month, picking up at any of the centers.
Bread for the city is open:
Monday to Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Friday 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
